# How Cutalo Works

> From a long video to clips you can post in four steps, about three minutes the first time.

1. Add your video: paste a YouTube link or pick a local file (mp4, mov, mkv or webm).
2. Pick a focus: how many clips, the format (9:16, 1:1 or 16:9) and an AI angle.
3. Let the AI select: Cutalo reads the transcript and marks the moments with the most hook.
4. Export and post: clips come out with captions, silence removed and an optional end card.

The first run downloads the transcription model; after that, local videos work offline.
